Excellent Indian food with stand out flavors!!!Really enjoyed the food here — proper, comforting Indian flavours done well. The biryani was generous and aromatic, with well-separated rice and balanced spices, not oily or heavy. The Chicken Madras had great depth — rich, warming, and full of flavour without overwhelming heat. A special mention for the coconut rice, which was the standout of the meal. Light, fragrant, and subtly sweet, it paired beautifully with the curries and elevated the whole plate.
We booked Imperial Spice at Shellharbour to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and the experience was truly memorable. Not every restaurant does this these days, but they surprised us with a beautiful token of love — a framed “Happy Birthday” message — which genuinely made our day and left a lasting impression. The food was excellent, full of flavour and perfectly balanced. Everything was on point. The Chicken Chilli was absolutely mouth-watering, and the cheese and garlic naan is a must-try. The desserts were beautifully presented, and the lassi was spot on — refreshing and authentic. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Special mention to Saif — such a helpful and kind person. In fact, the whole team went above and beyond to make our celebration special. They have a wide variety of Indian and Nepalese dishes on the menu, so there’s something for everyone. We were impressed not only by the food but also by the genuine service and warm hospitality. We will definitely be coming back again. Thank you, Imperial Spice, for the amazing food and outstanding service that made our celebration so special.
I ordered take away from this venue. The cook times where great with a 15 to 20 minute time slot. When I arrived the restaurant was fairly busy with about 70% occupancy. Staff greeted me and brought my order out swiftly. At home the food was still hot and the curry tasted good. I ordered a hot vegetable masala with coconut rice and a garlic nann. The masala was tasty and the Nann was good. The rice didn't have enough coconut taste for my liking and was dryer then I liked but the over all taste of the combination was good. I would definitely order from here again.
Everything was sooo good! We really loved the chicken chowmein, and we also ordered biryani for takeaway — it was delicious too. They even offered us sweets. Overall, it was a great experience!
I came across some fantastic reviews and a highly rated star rating for this Indian restaurant and I couldn't agree more. I tried the Goat Masala and it was absolutely delicious with full of flavor and perfectly cooked. I’ll definitely be returning soon to enjoy another wonderful feast. Highly recommend if you are passing through!
Absolutely divine..... very romantic.... the food was unbelievably tasty... and so much to eat, we took left overs home ..... highly recommend
Some of the best Indian meals we have ever had and for a great price ! They had forgotten a Naan bread and we didn't double check or notice , we got called and told we forgot a naan and they came within minutes to deliver it. So kind and so honest and most places would just apologise or not even let you know. I recommend this place 1000 procent ! The spinach palak paneer was to die for.
Wow! What a lovely surprise during our 2 night stay in Shellharbour. Fully recommend Imperfect Spice; such a great range of Indian & Nepalese food. We had the buffet for min 2 people & oh Lordy did we have loads of scrumptious food, enough to have as takeaway- tomorrow night dinner sorted. Thanks to the Chefs & wait staff. Fabulous place
